[Nothing is changed]
Nothing is changed
The land still lives
And a bar, bright green
Might be a field
Behind the lined trees’ verticality.
And vision, fawn like a ferret
Meanders in all nature’s stubble
Grass, hedge, and tree,
Dry blown, shook free of all but bone.
Which will persist through snow and ice
Until spring’s fierce flame devours it.
